Polar Bear Music Club is a 200 capacity venue situated a short stroll away from Hull’s creative bohemian quarter.

With a long history for live music having once been a taxidermist’s ‘zoo’, the venue is one of only eleven pubs left in the country still to have a Dalton grade 2 listed ceramic bar and once hosted a mimed performance from David Bowie don’t ya no. In 2021 The Polar Bear was saved by the people of Hull’s generous crowdfunder donations. We are now a venue, run for Hull’s community by the people of Hull. Hosting regular free entry nights alongside comedy and live music.

Our standard door time is 7.30pm with an 11.00pm curfew*

*All Saturday shows have a STRICT 10.30pm curfew.

Standard load in time Is 4pm. Early doors can be discussed to suit requirements. Load In: 4.00pm

TICKETING

Polar Bear Music Club uses SEE Tickets, and you’re welcome to put shows on sale via our account. However, if you’d prefer to use your own, we are flexible, as long as we have access to a weekly ticketing report.

AGE RESTRICTIONS

The venue welcomes all ages from 14+ for live events. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (18+). Club Nights are strictly 18+. We operate a challenge 21 policy within the venue.

Dressing Rooms: 1 available – direct stage access + 1 green room Showers: 1 available

Catering Access & Facilities: No in-house catering facilities. Green room contains small kitchen area, shower, toilet & laundry facilities.

Crew: In house – if you wish to use another supplier, you must inform us and ensure that the supplier is recognised and reputable company with the correct insurances, training and appropriate PPE.

Towels: available upon request.

Disabled Access: Wheelchair access via main entrance. Disabled toilet facilities not on site, the closest disabled toilet is a two minute journey away at local pub Pearson’s.

PRICING

Our venue hire for live music events includes Sound Engineer and security for the entirety of the event.

£150 + PRS + VAT

Box Office staff are available for £50 extra hire fee, and merch sellers are also available for £50. If your equire either, please contact us with at least a week’s notice.
