10:40PM - LUMER
Post-punk quartet based in Yorkshire. LUMER have this uncanny ability to evoke the gritty trauma of modern day society and channel such hurt and agony into wondrously affecting notions. Brimming with undeviating venom, their music veers from frothing with condemnation and dwelling in such stark clarity to personifying the increasingly traumatic state of the world with a certain poetical romance. It’s intensely isolated, brooding with a curious assuredness yet indelibly scorched by the very reality we are utterly consumed by.
9:50PM - AUTOSUGGESTION
A Hull born, 4 piece post-punk outfit, debuting in 2019. Autosuggestion produce a captivating, energetic sound that belies their age with calculated lyricism and pummeling instrumentation. “Autosuggestion is loud and confident – bass heavy, melodic and totally enthralling… a dense mesh of raw post punk that thrills this swelling audience” - Louder than War.
9:30PM - AMERICAN DAUGHTERS
Named after a Jack Kerouac quote that turned out not to exist, Jake Marsden created American Daughters to while away unending time alone during the pandemic producing melancholic bedroom bangers.
With singer-songwriter influences ranging from Slaughter Beach, Dog and John K. Samson to Phoebe Bridgers and inspiration from Tyler, The Creator and Gorillaz, AD’s first self-made single Youth Hostel Association Blanket is a cathartic insomniac anthem, full of the wishful thinking, loneliness and desperation of lying awake in different states of mind throughout the course of a night alone.
